Edinburg, NY — 29 September 2026 — An NY-21 voter has filed a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission against Blake Gendebien's congressional campaign, calling for an investigation into the campaign's payments to a Ukrainian national.
The complaint follows reporting first published by The Daily Caller and confirmed by the Daily Gazette. According to the campaign's own FEC filings, Gendebien for Congress paid Gabriella Grabovska $8,042. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed to reporters that Grabovska is an alien from Ukraine. Grabovska's own LinkedIn profile lists her title on the campaign as "finance assistant."
Federal law bars foreign nationals from making or directing campaign expenditures and from participating in the decision-making of a campaign's election-related activities. The FEC has said on record penalties may be imposed upon the Gendebien campaign.
When asked multiple times by multiple reporters, Blake Gendebien’s campaign has refused to comment on the matter, refuses to explain who hired Grabovska, what the extent of her duties were, why she was placed in the campaign's finance operation, and what the circumstances were surrounding her departure from the campaign. She has since been hired by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the national Democrat party arm.
"Blake Gendebien put a foreign national inside his campaign's finance operation and still won't tell voters why," said Anthony Constantino. "Voters shouldn't have to file federal complaints and call for investigations to get answers. He owes them the truth today."
This behavior fits the pattern of Gendebien’s flagrant disregard for American immigration and employment law, having bragged in an interview that he prefers hiring illegal immigrants over American citizens on his farm, and that he has bailed illegal aliens out of jail to put them back to work on his farm.
These revelations are happening on the heels of House Judiciary, Oversight, and Administration Republicans reporting that Democrats may have used their party’s fundraising infrastructure to process up to $38 million in illegal foreign contributions during the 2024 election cycle.
