Edinburg, NY – 30 September 2026 – The International Union of Police Associations (IUPA), a union chartered exclusively for law enforcement and law enforcement support personnel, broke with their affiliate organization AFL-CIO to endorse Anthony Constantino for Congress in New York's 21st Congressional District.
The IUPA represents rank-and-file officers and emergency personnel and fights for better equipment, fair wages and legislation that protects the men and women who keep us safe. Sam A. Cabral, a retired detective, leads the organization as International President.
“Our cops don't need a politician who disparaged corrections officers or one who answers to Kathy Hochul, like Blake Gendebien. They need one who will always go to the mat for them, and back the people who keep us safe,” Constantino said. “The IUPA is made up of some of the toughest people in our country, and I’m proud to have them in my corner. I'll make sure every officer in NY-21 and across our country knows I have their back when I’m in Washington.”
The endorsement adds to Constantino's growing coalition, which includes close to 400 local elected NY-21 officials.
