NRA Awards Anthony Constantino Highest Possible Rating
Edinburg, NY – 10 September 2026 – The Constantino for Congress campaign announced today that the National Rifle Association has awarded Anthony Constantino an "AQ" rating, the highest grade the NRA gives a first-time candidate. Democrat Blake Gendebien received the NRA's lowest possible grade, an "F," reflecting a record the organization views as hostile to gun owners' rights.
"New Yorkers in the 21st District deserve a representative who will stand up for their constitutional rights," said Anthony Constantino. "I support the 2nd Amendment as a means for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves from criminals, but also for the reason it was written by the founding fathers: to safeguard us from government tyranny. I'm proud to have earned the NRA's confidence, and the contrast with my opponent could not be clearer."
The NRA gave Blake Gendebien an “F” rating, declaring him a “true enemy of gun owners' rights. A consistent anti-gun candidate who always opposes gun owners' rights and/or actively leads anti-gun legislative efforts, or sponsors anti-gun legislation.” Gendebien also made several separate contributions to former NY-21 Democrat candidate Tedra Cobb after she was exposed for publicly advocating far-reaching gun bans. “F” is the lowest grade the NRA gives, and it stands in stark contrast to Anthony Constantino's top “AQ” rating.
